The 6th of August, twenty-two
Welcome back, United A. Tse and travel friends again.
Since I yearned to stay at the hotel, I am excited but curious about what it was like in a post-pandemic world. Hence when my friends finally arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in College Park, MD, we took some time to relax. I let myself save time and money just to explore metro Washington DC.
We wondered what was used to be like before the pandemic.
Soon when we arrived at the hotel, my friends were impressed with our stay. The bed was clean, the bathroom was spectacular, and the overall room was well-organized.

Hence, I saw that many free soaps, lotions, and other commodities are eliminated, replacing the soaps inside the bathroom behind the bath curtains.
The hotel room per se was defined as “picturesque.” Initially, from Google Maps, we splurged on $120 a night.

Can’t wait to stay in a hotel a little longer.
Later, we took a walk (in hot heat) to Chipotle Mexican Grill for lunch and browsed some books at the BookHolders (College Park Shopping Center), which took our time to browse some used books and other college items.
After my friends walked back to the Campus to watched their kids to watch the volleyball, I decided to take a stroll around Washington DC and to Eden Center, a Vietnamese Theme.
I said, “From downtown, take the Orange Line from Farragut West, get off at East Falls Church, and walk .8 mile south of North Roosevelt Street. The entrance is on the right. Meet us there.”

Just then, we decided to eat dinner there together. Then we also splurge together on many Vietnamese desserts, meals, and snacks.

The next day, we took some solo time to explore the beautiful University of Maryland, which was a great travel experience.
But unfortunately because I forget my sunscreen, it was too hot to tour around because of the strong sun rays.
Here are the pictures below.
Here are the overall weekend itinerary.
Since I have no plan for the rest of the day, I prefer to spend another solo time walking around the University of Maryland, a college campus. Since it was hot, I decided to come back and watch my friend’s volleyball. It was then I felt like “the trip have become a boredom.”
I also published the blog how trip boredom affect the trip quality.
