A Funtastic Wilmington Daycation

Dreaming of walking in Wilmington was once a dangerous place to walk. Think about where I can go safely, especially young girl (like me) loves to walk in woods. Working hard to earn more money and blogging more about travel related products and services I loved, I am considered doing things I enjoyed.

Researching about which places to visit can be a daunting task, especially traveling alone or with your friends to places.

By the way, Wilmington was one of the dangerous cities in the nation with rising in crime rate rose by 148%, including murder rate (“Wilmington Crime Rate,” 2019). Shooting and homicides in Wilmington have also increased dramatically during this year and I was very concerned where should I visit specifically.

Consequently, I am reconsidered which places are safer to visit other than just to visiting places where shootings and homicides took place. Besides visiting in the neighborhood where ghettos are located, I only plan to visit a place, e.g. Wilmington Riverfront where lots of people and are well-maintained parks/popular places would be a better place to visit.

September 25th

While I have a day off from work, I took an opportunity to explore a fun-filled trail area where tourism took place. It was a beautiful cool morning as I took the morning Regional Rail Train to Wilmington. My heart felt exciting race as I starred at the window. I saw the sunrise, looking at the right side of the Delaware river.

Once I safely arrived at Wilmington, I put things or activities in order (according to my research):

  • A start of a trail (Jack A. Markell Trail)
  • Took a picture of BO Station
  • Went to Riverfront Market to explore
  • Had lunch @ Starbucks – I brought my own lunch (veggie sandwich and banana) while ordering creamy iced matcha latte
  • Walked on a Jack A. Markell Trail and to the DuPont Environmental Center
  • Learned how wildlife, animals, and other habitats are preserved environmentally on the Christina River (similar to Earth’s Day). It helped me to sharpen my learning experience by visiting this place to apply knowledge.
  • Walked back on a Trail and took pictures
  • Walked around Tubman Garret Riverfront Park

After the day trip to the Wilmington, I rode an hour and half train ride, writing things down and journaling all about the preservatives of many live animals including American Bald Eagles, Virginia Rails, Belted Kingfishers, Wood Ducks and a wide variety of other nesting and migrating species. It was an educational trip to the Delaware, which learns much about the marsh and how to protect them from harm. It was a celebration of learning new things related from environmental preservatives. It is a life-changing experience.
